Check a coin
Photograph both sides of one coin. We suggest an identity, you confirm the date and mint mark, and then you see the value basis with sources. One free photo identification per day in your browser. Manual lookup is always free and needs no photos.
Covers Lincoln Memorial cents (1959–2008), Roosevelt dimes (1946–2025) and Washington silver quarters (1932–1964). Exact coverage.
Send coin photos for identification?
PlainCoin sends cropped photos of both sides to our server and to Anthropic, our AI provider, to suggest the coin’s identity. Check that no people or personal information are visible. We remove photo metadata and do not keep the photos on our server after processing. Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days, with exceptions for safety or legal requirements. We do not use your photos to train models. Photos you save to your collection stay on this device and may be included in your device backup. You can use manual lookup without sending photos.
